The Southern Steel have beaten the West Coast fever 69-62 in their trans-Tasman netball match in Invercargill.

The Steel's Jamaican goal shoot, Jhaniele Fowler-Reid, top scored with 59 goals from 65 attempts to keep her team on top of the New Zealand conference.
The Steel took a one point advantage into the second quarter before leading 37-27 at half time.
The teams drew the third quarter 17-all before the Fever fought back to outscore the Steel 18-15 in the final period, although it wasn't enough to avoid defeat.
