The match-up between the two best defensive teams in the competition produced just that, a tight, low-scoring spectacle which took until the final quarter to open up.
After a third quarter comeback, a Tactix upset beckoned before the Pulse steadied the ship to seal the result.
Pulse captain Katrina Grant was a standout throughout the match while the introduction of rookie Mila Reuelu-Buchanan and Ameliaranne Ekenasio helped the visitors to get over the line.
The Pulse are now two points clear of the Southern Steel in first place with the Tactix third a further four points back.
The Pulse have four games left and the Tactix three.
The top three teams qualify for the play-offs.
