Auckland's Connor Bell has broken the national record for the second time this month.
He's recorded a throw of 69.51 metres this morning, over a metre further than his previous record.
Both throws were at the same venue in Ramona, Oklahoma in the United States, which has been the site of numerous records set by other discus throwers this month, including Lithuania's Mykolas Alekna, who extended his own world record to 75.56m.
The venue in Ramona has been the subject of interesting debate, with coaches and commentators noting that the athletes' performances have been enhanced by the design of the stadium, which seems to take advantage of high wind speeds.
The field also features several throwing circles all positioned to help athletes take advantage of the wind, no matter which direction it's coming from.

Bell, whose throw moves him into the top 50 all time in the men's discus, competed at both the Paris 2024 Olympics and the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
In Paris, he finished 13th, just missing out on claiming a spot in the final round with a best effort of 62.88, while in Birmingham, he finished 6th with a throw of 59.47m.
