Kiwi tennis doubles star Erin Routliffe has claimed back-to-back titles on the WTA Tour.

Fresh from winning a tournament in Charleston, USA, two weeks ago with Latvia's Jelena Ostapenko, Routliffe has reunited with regular partner, Canadian Gaby Dabrowski, to win the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix title at Stuttgart, Germany.

Routliffe and Dabrowski defeated Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova and China's Zhang Shuai 6-3 6-3 in a match that lasted just over an hour and a quarter.

They broke their opponents' serve three times during the opening set and, although the second set had the same scoreline, it was a tighter battle, with the top seeds converting two of their eight breakpoints.

The title is Routliffe's 10th in her career and her fifth with Dabrowski, but their first together this year and their first on clay.

They previously won the 2023 US Open title and lost the 2024 Wimbledon final, but took out the year-ending WTA Finals at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The result should be a confidence boost, with the surface dominating the next several weeks on tour. They next contest the WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid, as they prepare for the French Open in Paris next month.
