A-League live updates: Wellington Phoenix v Brisbane Roar

6:24 pm on 26 October 2025

Wellington Phoenix have snatched a dramatic 2-1 win against Brisbane Roar in the capital this afternoon.

Securing the goal right was Carlo Armiento in stoppage time to claim the first victory for the Wellington side in the A-League this season.

Armiento is fast winning over Wellington fans, striking late in the game for the second consecutive week.

Echoing last week's fightback against Perth Glory for the draw, Wellington again clawed their way back into the match in the final quarter.

Kasuki Nagasawa pounced on a ball from Corban Piper, tapping in the goal from the right side of the box to bring the home side level.

Earlier, a goal from Brisbane's Justin Vidic put the Roar in front approaching halftime in the 42nd minute.

He chased down the aerial delivery, connecting with a nice little dink over the Phoenix goalkeeper Josh Oluwayemi.

Phoenix back Tim Payne was forced off the field with a serious injury early in the match.

In concerning signs for both Wellington and the All Whites, Payne was assisted off the field by a team medic, with either a shoulder or collarbone injury.
