West Auckland fills up Parrs Park for Waitangi celebration

Thousands of people gathered at Parrs Park in West Auckland to celebrate Waitangi Day.

Crowds at the Waitangi ki Waititi concert enjoyed dancing and singing to superstars like Rob Ruha, Stan Walker, Corrella and many more.

The vibe was high, and everyone was full of excitement with big smiles on their faces.

There were many free activities, games for the rangatahi to win prizes, tukutuku weaving workshops and a moko stencils for their faces.

There were hundreds of kai stalls selling lots of delicious kai like hangi and seafood.

Some stalls were selling Māori-designed clothing, and one stall offered buyers the chance to design their own t-shirt.

This event was about people coming together, being proud to be Māori and celebrating Waitangi Day in ways that uplifts, educates and connects everyone.
