Having just returned from New York city, Jol Mullholland says he’s “decompressing the last two years”, which he spent touring the US with bands.
He says one thing he has learnt is say ‘no’; gregarious and generous by nature, Mullholland says he’s reached a point where “I don’t want to spread myself too thin anymore, I’m kinda more weary of it, done that buzz”.
“I’ve said no to a few things recently and I’ve said yes to a few things for myself. I find it hard not to feel selfish when I do stuff.”
“I was playing a lot of classical guitar [in New York] and writing a lot of guitar pieces and it reminded me of when I was 15 and starting to write”.
“It’s practice isn’t it? You have to practice writing songs and maybe a good one will come out of you just keep hammering away at it.”
