An Australian tour by American rapper Chris Brown is under review because of his past domestic violence.
New Zealand officials have already indicated they are unlikely to allow Brown into the country to stage his 'One Hell of a Night' tour this December.
Australian Minister for Women Michaelia Cash said immigration officials there were reviewing whether it would be appropriate to issue Brown with a visa.
She said people needed to understand if they committed domestic violence, there would be countries that would refuse them entry on character grounds.
In a former role as Assistant Immigration Minister, Ms Cash banned global boxing identity Floyd Mayweather from entry because of his domestic violence record.
Chris Brown was charged with assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to five years probation and six months of community service.
