Bondi Beach gunman, Naveed Akram, has been moved to Goulburn Supermax prison in the New South Wales Southern Tablelands.
The ABC understands the alleged murderer was moved earlier on Monday from Sydney's Long Bay jail hospital where he has been for the past fortnight after being shot by police.
Akram, 24, faces 59 charges, including 15 counts of murder over the 14 December mass shooting at Bondi Beach.
He has also been charged with committing a terrorist act.
A NSW government spokesperson said in a statement that Goulburn Supermax prison was "the most secure prison in the state and is equipped to accommodate inmates who post the highest levels of risk".
"Community safety remains the government's top priority and Corrective Services takes its responsibility to appropriately manage serious offenders incredibly seriously," the spokesperson said.
The other Bondi Beach gunman, Akram's father, Sajid Akram, was shot dead by police.
