Sir Peter Williams QC (1934-2015)
Sir Peter Williams was involved in some of the country's most high-profile criminal cases over the past 50 years and was a tireless campaigner for prisoners' rights and penal reform.
He was made Knight Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to law in the 2015 New Year Honours.
Sir Peter Williams QC died in June 2015, aged 80.
