Known for their stadium rock sing-a-longs and iconic facepaint, KISS are one of the biggest selling bands of all time, with over 100 million records sold worldwide.
But lead guitarist Tommy Thayer’s rise to fame with the band isn’t the usual rock 'n roll story. He was originally an employee of the band, curating archival books and DVDs. Next he moved into tour management, and ultimately took over as lead guitarist in 2002.
