2.15 Rodger Fox Big Band celebrates 50 year Anniversary and tours with King Kapisi
Rodger Fox is a New Zealand trombonist, jazz educator, recording artist and leader of the Rodger Fox Big Band - his jazz band which he formed in 1973.
The Rodger Fox Big Band is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year and once again they are heading out on tour for a very special show - this time interpreting songs from King Kapisi’s catalogue.
Fusing the modern big band sound with Aotearoa-New Zealand hip-hop, the Rodger Fox Big Band headlines this year’s Wellington Jazz Festival, collaborating with multi-award-winning Aotearoa hip-hop legend King Kapisi. This performance also features special guest, supremo blues vocalist Erna Ferry.
Rodger talks to Charlotte Ryan about the new tour.
