Ben and Louis Helliker-Hales are Chaos in The CBD. The Kiwi brothers have been living in London for over a decade, becoming an essential part of the global dance community and playing at the top house clubs.
Maggie Tweedie catches up on their touring life abroad, and a special music collaboration with another Aotearoa treasure, Nathan Haines.

1:40 Japanese trio Shonen Knife on 42 years of playing pop punk
Shonen Knife are an all girl Japanese band hailing from Osaka. Raised by conservative parents, singer/guitarist Naoko Yamano talks to Maggie Tweedie about the early days of sneaking her guitar out of the house to play live shows, and the experience of touring with Nirvana just as the band was blowing up.
Across countless tours and 42 years of music one thing has remained constant, the shared aim to uplift the audience and have a damn good time playing music they love.

After finding the traditional classical world “an intense, competitive place” post-classical composer Rose Riebl found comfort in her rule-breaking minimalist music.
Rose is signed to the independent label Inni in Iceland, a place she describes as an “artistic mecca”. She talks to Maggie Tweedie about why creatives are so drawn to the island.
4pm The Mixtape - Martin Kwok: behind the sound in Beatles ‘Get Back’ and ‘Dune: Part Two’
As Dune: Part Two opens in cinemas this week one pair of ears will be tuning in more than most - those of Wellington based, Emmy award winning sound editor Martin Kwok.
Martin was the sound editor on the film, and prior to that he worked on Peter Jackson’s Beatles documentary Get Back, supervising the careful restoration of audio from the original album recording.
Martin gives Maggie Tweedie a glimpse of what goes on behind the sound in blockbuster films, and as a DJ and record collector, he picks some fine tunes for the Mixtape this week.
