1:20 ‘It’s what we love doing’: UB40 celebrate 45 years with new album and tour
UB40 are returning to New Zealand this October. The band will play Auckland and Christchurch, joined by Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter, Eagle-Eye Cherry.
They’ve also just released a new album UB45, featuring a mix of new songs and classics.
UB40’s RED RED WINE TOUR kicks off at the Wolfbrook Arena in Christchurch on Tuesday October 8 before heading to Auckland to play at the Trusts Arena on Thursday October 10.
Founding member Robin Campbell spoke to Charlotte Ryan about the new album, line-up changes over the years, and what keeps him motivated to keep making music.

Illmatic, the debut album by New York rapper Nas, is widely considered one of the greatest hip hop albums ever recorded.
Released on April 19th 1994, the album graphically conveyed the experiences of street life within the housing projects of Queensbridge like no rap album had done so prior.
It was also famously given the prestigious five mic rating by The Source upon its release.
