Te Kahureremoa Taumata used to make music as Ladyfruit, but released her debut album Acts of Service under her real name.
She’s an accomplished tango pūoro performer, and used traditional Māori instruments to write the album - along with her collaborators Neil McLeod and Khali Phillips-Barbara.
Tony Stamp talked to Kahu and Khali about making Acts of Service, the choice to sing largely in te reo Māori, and their storytelling duo TimoTimo.
