Karoline Fuarosa Park-Tamati, better known as Ladi6, is one of Aotearoa’s most iconic musical voices.

With a trophy cabinet full of national accolades, including the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to music and the prestigious 2023 Arts Foundation of New Zealand Laureate Award — it’s fair to say she’s more than earned her stripes.

Now, after years of anticipation, Ladi6 is set to release Le Vā, her long-awaited and most personal album to date. Fans have been treated to some new singles in the way of Alofa and LightBulb ahead of the album release on June 1st.

To mark the occasion, she, her longtime collaborator and husband Parks, bandmate Brandon Haru and special guests are hitting the road for a special winter tour, a soulful homecoming she’s envisioned for years.

In an incredibly personal interview with Maggie Tweedie, Ladi6 speaks candidly about her journey through grief and how losing her mum, shaped her long-awaited new album.
