Handmade guitars on display at Sonic Salon and Symposium

From Nights, 8:30 pm on 21 May 2025

We're 21 days into New Zealand Music Month and the festivities have not slowed down. If you're a lover of all things instruments, The Guitar Gallery in Auckland is hosting Sonic Salon and Symposium this Friday. It's a free event for musicians, music enthusiasts and the like to come together, while highlighting the craftmanship of three renowned instrument makers who will be displaying their work.

Dave Pauling of Solace Instruments and Glyn Evans of Mr. Glyn's Pickups are two of those makers, and they joined Emile Donovan in studio to display some of their hard work.

All event information can be found here.

Three people in three separate images collaged. The first image is a man in a blue shirt that reads 'Mr.Glyn's Pickups' and he is holding a wood-grain electric guitar. The second image is of a man in a high-vis vest in a dark workshop, messing with the top of a bright yellow guitar laid out on a table coming towards the camera. The guitar features an insect design in the middle. The third image is a man holding an unfinished guitar carved from wood.
