Miriam Harris

From Sunday Afternoon, 1:20 pm on 7 May 2023

Truth is often stranger - and certainly more gripping - than fiction. And nowhere is that more obvious than during the annual Doc Edge Festival which opens in Auckland on May the 24th. One of the highlights is Visiting Ben Shemen, the story of three women who survived or escaped the Holocaust as children. It's an animated documentary, created by AUT Associate Professor Miriam Harris, and it's already shown at over 20 festivals around the world.. Nights' Mark Leishman talked with Miriam about Ben Shemen, the special boarding school in Palestine where Miriam's mother met two others in 1946.
