A person in is in a critical condition in Auckland after a fire in a Pakuranga apartment block.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Grassways Avenue at about 12.45pm.
Police said one person had been taken to Middlemore hospital in a critical condition, and cordons were in place.
Fire and Emergency crews rescued one person from the top floor of the three story building, where the fire is burning.
FENZ said roughly 24 firefighters were at the scene.
It is asking the public to avoid the area.
