Police are looking into how a 13-year-old died after leaving hospital, following a stolen car crash in the Far North.
They said the crash happened late on Sunday night in Kaitaia.

The police said a number of people fled the scene, but they were not sure how many.
The 13-year-old boy was found there and taken to hospital. He was discharged the next morning and taken to a house, where he later died.
A post mortem has been completed but police were still awaiting toxicology results.
