Police have called for dashcam footage after "cowardly" group attacks left two men with serious injuries in Lower Hutt.
Police believe the two men were seriously injured in Woburn's Trevethick Grove about 2.25am on Saturday after going to a party in the street.
Officers responded to a report of up to six people fighting and found an unconscious 19-year-old man who had lost a lot of blood.
Meanwhile an 18-year-old man with life-threatening injuries was taken to hospital by friends.
In a statement today police said the 18-year-old was now in a stable condition in intensive care, and the 19-year-old also remained in hospital.
Both men's injuries were the result of "cowardly" attacks by a group of people, the statement said.
Police have called for anyone with footage from Trevethick Grove, Whites Line West or Ludlam Crescent from around the time of the attacks to hand it in to them.
"Police are continuing our enquiries at the scene today to establish the circumstances of the assaults that occurred".
People living in the area have also been asked to check their properties for items that may have been connected to the assaults, and to hand them in.
"Staff are continuing to speak to members of the public who live in the vicinity of Trevethick Grove, as well as people who attended a party at a Trevethick Grove address prior to the assault."
Anyone who was there, but who has not yet talked with police has been asked to get in touch.
