Three people have been injured in an incident in Takanini this evening.
Police said emergency services were called to Kutukutu Street at 7.50pm, after what appeared to be an altercation involving neighbours.
Hato Hone St John said three ambulances and two other crews were called to the scene.
A spokesperson said two people had suffered critical injuries and one person had serious injuries.
Police said the person believed to be responsible fled the scene in a car but was tracked down by the police eagle helicopter.
He was taken into police custody.
Cordons are in place on Kutukutu Street and police are asking residents to follow the instructions of their staff in the area.
