Police have named the man who died in the Auckland suburb of Manurewa as Selwyn Tetoko Hori Robson.
Emergency services were called to a property on Mahia Road just before 10am on Tuesday, where a man was critically injured.
He later died at the scene.
A 32-year-old woman has been charged with his murder.
"This woman has been spoken to and has now been charged with murder," detective inspector Shaun Vickers said in a statement.
He said police were not seeking anyone else in relation to the death.
The woman is due in the Auckland High Court on 28 May.
