Auckland Transport has applauded a bus driver for his quick thinking after his bus caught fire earlier tonight.
A diesel bus running on route 295 caught fire in Epsom about 6.10pm.
An Auckland Transport spokesperson said the driver promptly raised the alarm and made sure all the passengers got off safely.
That included one passenger with limited mobility who the driver helped escape before the fire spread.
A fire investigator is at the scene to determine what caused the fire.
