The former LA Lakers centre Shaquille O'Neal, who helped lead the side to three consecutive NBA basketball titles, has been honoured by the club with his number being retired.
In a ceremony at the Staples Centre during the halftime break of a Lakers game, O'Neal's No.34 purple and gold singlet was raised to the rafters, joining eight other Lakers icons, including Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Wilt Chamberlain.
