After a rain-affected series-opener, the Black Caps return to Christchurch to play England in the second T20 at Hagley Oval on Monday.
The first game was declared a no result after persistent rain meant New Zealand weren't given an opportunity to reply to England's first innings effort.
A late flurry from all-rounder Sam Curran propelled England to 153/6, with no less than six Black Caps' bowlers bagging a wicket.
Tonight's fixture gets underway at 7:15pm with the sides then travelling to Auckland for the final T20 match before the ODI series.
