1.25 The Jesus and Mary Chain: ‘These days it's Jim and William Reid being themselves’
Scottish band The Jesus and Mary Chain return to New Zealand this month touring their new album Glasgow Eyes, hailed as some of their best music since their explosive debut Psychocandy.
The band are also celebrating their 40 year anniversary. Charlotte Ryan speaks to founder Jim Reid about the origins of the Mary Chain, their infamous 90s shows and mid-career break up, and what got them back together.

2.30 ‘The summer of Prince’: 40 Years of Purple Rain
This month marks 40 years since the release of Purple Rain, the 1984 American romantic rock musical film scored by and starring Prince in his acting debut.
The semi-autobiographical story in the film follows a musician's rise to superstardom, and it was a huge success - Prince became the first artist to ever have the top movie, album, and single at the same time.
Matt Thorne, author of Prince: The Man and His Music speaks to Charlotte Ryan to celebrate the iconic Purple Rain.
