Grammy award-winning musician Moby talks with Charlotte about his career, addiction, regret, his new album Reprise, and why he has made a documentary on himself.

His new album Reprise sees Moby revisiting and reimagining music from his three-decade-long career. Moby is joined on the album by the Budapest Art Orchestra, with who he collaborated to reinvent some of his biggest rave classics with new arrangements for orchestra and acoustic instruments. 

Other features on the album include Alice Skye, Amythyst Kiah, Apollo Jane, Darlingside, Deitrick Haddon, Gregory Porter, Jim James, Kris Kristofferson, Luna Li, Mark Lanegan, Mindy Jones, Nataly Dawn, Skylar Grey and Víkingur Ólafsson.

Growing up as a self-described nerd, he found himself obsessed with computers and creative programs which opened the door to his creative endeavors at a young age.

The gaming industry is massive business, making much more money worldwide than movies. And many game developers are popping up around NZ – which means opportunities for musicians hoping to get into the business.  

Intrigued by this, Tony Stamp sought out some of these company’s in-house composers, to learn more about their gear, the approach they take to creating epic scores, and how they got started.
